This piece is also about my frail memory. The lead of the pencil is made of eraser, instead of real lead. The function of the pencil is to write but in my work, the pencil is to erase which is a paradox. Video is projected on the wall: it says “My memory has an eraser”.
'Erasable pencil'이라는 작품은 제목 그대로 지워지기 쉬운 나의 기억력에 관련된 작업이다. 일반적으로 연필은 쓰기 위한 도구이다. 하지만 나는 연필심 대신 지우개를 심으로 선택하여 모순된 거대한 크기의 연필들을 만들었다. 일반적인 크기의 연필을 키움으로써 일상성을 벗어난 오브제로 만들었다. 배경의 영상은 '내 기억력은 지우개를 가지고 있다. My memory has an eraser'라는 문장이 쓰였다 지워지기를 반복한다. 예술가 앤디 워홀의 'his memory had a button marked 'erase'' 말에서 영감을 얻어서 작업했다.
