본 작업은 대구문화재단 Re:Art프로젝트로써 현진건의 <운수 좋은 날>을 현시대에 맞춰 애니메이션으로 재해석했다. 본 영상을 통해 바쁘게 살아가는 현대인의 모습을 빗대어 볼 수 있다. 요즘 청년들은 많은 것을 포기한다. 돈과 사랑 중 무엇을 선택할지를 갈등하고 고민한다. (3포, 5포, 7포 시대 청년들) 그리고 그 과정에서 사랑하는 사람을 먼저 떠나 보내기도 한다. 본 애니메이션 작업을 통해 각자 삶의 무게에 대해 깊이 생각해볼 수 있기를 바란다.
This work was produced as part of the Re:Art Project supported by the Daegu Cultural Foundation and reinterprets Hyun Jin-geon’s short story <A Lucky Day> in the form of animation, adapted to a contemporary context. Through this video, the work reflects the realities of modern life, mirroring the hurried and relentless pace at which people live today.
Many young people today are forced to give up numerous aspects of life. They struggle with difficult choices, such as deciding between financial stability and love—a reality often described as the “# Giving-Up” generation. In this process, some are compelled to let go of the people they love first. Through this animated work, the artist hopes viewers will pause to reflect deeply on the weight each individual carries in their own life.
