동전 안 이미지를 보면, 중요한 업적을 남긴 인물 또는 국보 등 긍정적인 의미를 가진다. 동전 500원 속 천연 기념물 두루미 대신 피를 빠는 모기를 집어넣음으로써 돈의 가치에 대해 묻고자 했다.
Images depicted on coins typically carry positive meanings, such as figures of historical achievement or nationally treasured cultural symbols. In this work, I replace the red-crowned crane, a Natural Monument depicted on the 500 won coin, with a blood-sucking mosquito. Through these deliberate substitutions, I seek to question the values we assign to money and what is revered, preserved, or sacrificed in the name of economic worth.
