‘달면 삼키고 쓰면 뱉는다’ 는 사자성어에서 영감 받은 시리즈작업으로, 우리가 동물을 대하는 방식과 감정을 표현한다.  초콜릿은 인간의 태도를 은유적으로 드러내는 재료로 사용된다. 달콤한 맛으로 욕망을 자극하는 이 재료들은 쉽게 소비되지만, 다 녹아 사라진 후에는 아무것도 남지 않는다. 마치 사회가 필요할 때만 이용하고, 필요 없어지면 외면하는 존재들과 닮아 있다.

 

This series is inspired by the proverb “to swallow what is sweet and spit out what is bitter,” and explores the ways in which we treat animals and project our emotions onto them. Chocolate is used as a material that metaphorically reveals human attitudes. With its sweetness, it stimulates desire and is easily consumed, yet once it melts away, nothing remains. In this sense, it mirrors those beings whom society makes use of only when needed, and turns away from once they are no longer considered useful.
